Important Medicare notes: A valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP are required. Non-direct time is not eligible for Medicare rebate. Non-attended appointments do not attract a rebate. If you reach your Medicare Safety Net threshold, you may receive a higher rebate — up to 80% of out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed.

The NDIS Price Guide sets the psychology rate at $232.99 per 60 minutes pro rata. Thompson Psychology's standard rate is $225 per 50-minute session. For fairness, this rate applies to NDIS sessions. Additional charges for non-direct time reflect planning, case consultation, note-taking, and stakeholder communication required under NDIS.

Fees are as per the current WorkCover Queensland Mental Health Services Table of Costs (effective 1 August 2025). All fees listed are GST exclusive. Pre-approved consultations: 6 sessions including initial. A Provider Management Plan (PMP) must be submitted if further treatment is required.

Payment Terms

How to Pay

Payment is due on the day of service.

Credit card — processed via Halaxy. A processing fee of 1.9% + $1 applies.

Bank transfer — no processing fee, but payment must be made on the same day.

Your nominated payment method is collected during intake and applies to all appointments.

Late Payment Policy

Invoices unpaid after 14 days will incur a $20 late fee.

Repeated late payments may result in a requirement for upfront payment.

For Medicare clients: rebates may be delayed when using bank transfer.
